That's part of the upcoming film murder capital of the world. It follows the violence across the border in Cuidad Jaurez. The director of the film Charlie Minn describes the film in one word. "The truth. This has been so overlooked...so ignored." "Juarez unfortunately has become the epi-center of all this violence that's crippling the country of Mexico." The film shocases the shocking number of deaths that occur on a daily basis in Juarez, Mexico. Minn, a resident of Manhattan and someone who was in New York when the twin towers were taken down. He says he never thought he would see such a large body count...until Juarez in 2010. "3,111 murders which exceeds the body count of the 9/11 attacks. I would say 95% of people do not know that shocking statistic." So as someone who has no ties to the city in Mexico, it's hard to understand why he would want to do such an eye opening movie. He says it's to give a voice to the voiceless. Minn says it was this video of a classroom of young children in Juarez lying on the floor hiding from a gun shoot out right outside of their classroom. The fact that the teacher sings to the children to block out the noise of gun fire really struck a nerve with the flim maker. "Obviously making a film like this is riskier than most...I'm not afraid."
