Where was the supervisor of the officier? You mean to tell me he did NOT know that the officier has not been to work. What about his daily reports, messages, mail, emails, use of patrol cars, radio ins, daily contact with his buddies? You all are a bunch of hyprocrites, liars & unprofessional people.

I have applied for the HR positions with the City of Laredo more than 20 times, have been denied,I have the expertise, but they hire people that do not have the experience. What is this about using time sheets that is old. They need a more sophisticated time system.

Duh. Simply put -- because that is the ONLY way some of you would understand .. it would be impossible to use electronic time clocks AND have someone monitor EVERYONE. Again, simply -- there are 20 districts .. 18 substations. Officers report to the substations for the units and gear .. follow so far? At any point in time there are from 3 to 5 sergeants on duty .. NOT nearly enough to be everywhere at once, making sure the right officer is clocking in at the right place at the right time. They are adults - supposedly in a position of immense responsibility and power. YES something needs to be done, but at the same time it has to be done responsibly. Don't paint us all with the same brush. WE punch in. WE work our hours. WE are on camera. What happened happened because no one knows who is on leave for what, or when. THIS MESS is the fault of the PERSONNEL dept. How could they not 'notice' for a YEAR?? They micromanage the rest of us, wonder what they are up to???

Maybe we will have to place two cameras in the squad cars one facing out and one in to see if they are on the job. lol

I can't believe it that still in the 20th century LPD is still using time sheets, what happend to modern electronic time clocks? Instead of buying police cars to have them used to visit thier girlfriends LPD should invest in buying a electronic record keeper and have a honest, responsible supervisor monitor it everyday. But then again where is the honest, responsible supervisor/watch commander. lol
