Police Bust Alleged Hubcap Theft Ring

By KGNS News

The Laredo Police Department has busted a large hubcap theft ring.
Police said a total of about $22,000 in hubcaps was recovered from a house in the 2700 block of Zacatecas.
Authorities were led to that home after a traffic stop around five 5 a.m. at the intersection of Mayberry and Springfield.
Police said two men had 32 sets of stolen hubcaps in their possession and a set of tools allegedly used in the thefts.
Police were later able to find 116 more sets back at the house.
Guillermo Jesus Ramos and Delfino Garcia Jr. were both arrested on charges of theft and use of criminal instrument.
Police said they were selling the merchandise online.
Detectives said they would make contact with the people who have filed reports of stolen hub caps and will be returning the stolen items.
And in a related case, 4 juveniles were also arrested this morning for a similar crime, however, police are trying to determine if the four were part of the same theft ring.
More arrests are pending.
