It is a series of events that took place on Monday night. Michelle Winterroth had called the police to report she was a victim of domestic violence at her residence by a visitor. Later that evening police arrived at her residence looking for Sheriff Deputy Alberto Castañeda. She claims she told the officers Alberto Castañeda does not live there. She says that's when a police officer assaulted her.
She also claims the officer allegedly threatened to call CPS and take her child away if she did not tell them where Castaneda was hiding. She says all this happened while her 7 year old daughter was listening.
A complaint has been filed with the Department of Internal Affairs in the Police Department. The victim claims it is not the first time this same officer is involved in a similar incident.
After having this experience with Laredo police, she has something to tell the community.
