“Before we knew it our truck was in our house very close to hitting my son's playpen. Luckily no one was hurt.”
It’s this family vehicle that Leslie Sanchez is talking about.
It’s parked outside her home on Puerto Isabel Street. At around 2 a.m. she says a careless driver slammed right into it.
“We heard a lot of screeching, and tires, and the next thing we hear a car crash and the wall come towards us,” says her husband Sean.
A crash caused by an unknown driver who hit the truck causing it to hit the Sanchez's bedroom wall. “We came out and we saw the car get away,” says Sean. “Had the truck not been there, we probably would not be alive.”
The family says this isn’t the first time this neighborhood has had concerns with speeding vehicles.
“Almost every night we hear cars passing by fast. We have parks, we have kids outside,” says Sean.
In fact, they say people who live here have petitioned for speed bumps in the past, but nothing has been done.
“I don’t have a child, but I feel for those neighbors who do. I have pets. I would hate to see them dead on the side of the road,” says a neighbor.
People in the neighborhood say they witnessed a silver Mustang with a black stripe Speed off after the accident.
You’re urged to call police if you have any information about the accident.
Meanwhile, they also say they’ve petitioned for speed humps before, but the petition was unsuccessful.
We tried contacting the proper officials, but were not able to reach them this holiday weekend. We'll keep trying until this problem becomes a problem solved.

Maybe if there was a police presence and people actually had to pay their tickets for speeding and doing other stupid stuff, we wouldn't have dummies putting peoples life in danger. What do you say to that chiefy weefy?
