Public can text in tips to the U.S. Marshals

By KGNS News

The U.S. Marshals have announced a new way for the public to help track down wanted fugitives.

The U.S. Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force is now able to receive anonymous tips from the public via text message or on the web.

Authorities say the tipsters’ information and cell phone numbers will be kept confidential.

If you'd like to send a tip to the Marshals you can do so by texting the word "Gulfcoast" and your tip to 847411.

You can also go online to usmarshals.gov.

If you'd like to know more, or check out the list of the Marshals’ Most Wanted, you can do so on the same website.
