SCAN offering alcohol screenings to assist the community

By KGNS News

The City of Laredo is teaming up with Webb County Community Coalition to raise awareness on alcohol abuse.

An estimated 18 million people in the United States have alcohol problems and more than half of all adults have experienced a history with alcoholism within their family.

Throughout the month of April, SCAN Inc. will work with the City to hold alcohol screenings to assist those in need of counseling or assistance.

Leaders of SCAN say it is important for members of the community including parents to understand the impact of alcohol on the nation's youth.

If you are interested in seeking counseling for alcohol abuse, you can talk to members of SCAN, Inc. by calling 724-3177.

DO not understand the screening attempt of SCAN. You need to want to be helped before you submit to an alcohol screening. Waste of time and effort. It seems SCAN's attempt to justify their purpose.
