Saying goodbye to county employee Alberto Long Jr.

By KGNS Intern

Employees in the 406th district court and the district attorney's office said their last goodbyes to a long-time county employee.

Fifty-one year-old Alberto Long Jr. was the right-hand-man for Judge Oscar Hale in the 406th court. Long was well known for being in tune with political issues in our community and across the border. In fact, he was often called upon for political advice. Long was also the interpreter and the voice for the 406th District Court as the court liaison.

Long died this past weekend at the age of 51.

I spoke with Mr. Long last Wednesday and had a conversation with him. His passing was a surprise to me.
