Vehicle Arson Arrests

By KGNS News

New details are revealed on the latest car fire ruled as arson.

Police have arrested 29 year old Judith Guerrero, the driver of the vehicle, reportedly, used in this incident. Alejandro Garcia, 24 years old, and Juan Mojica Jr., 31 years old, were also arrested. All three are facing charges of felony 2 arson, evading arrest, and engaging in organized criminal activity.

As we reported, two cars were set on fire close to Thursday midnight. One was located in the 1500 block of Lincoln, while the other was in the 1200 block of Maine. Witnesses tell police they saw a group of people in a small red car throw what was later determined to be a Molotov cocktail into another vehicle. An officer headed to the scene and spotted that same red car, said to be the suspect vehicle, leading police on a chase.

Inv. Joe Baeza with the Laredo Police Department describes what happened next. “The chase ensued to the 1800 block of Park where the vehicle came to a stop, because a train was in the way. Another man took off on foot. The officer arrested the river which was a woman.”

Police also say, the owners of the vehicles set on fire are related. Authorities are looking into whether the three suspects may be connected to other arson cases.
