Video of Nuevo Laredo gunfight circulating on Facebook

Nuevo Laredo was in the grip of fear for much of Friday afternoon after an intense gunfight in the streets.

Reports say fighting between armed gunmen and members of the military started shortly before 4pm in the Colonia Viveros.

Nuevo Laredo residents used Twitter to report gunfire, explosions and a military helicopter patrolling the sky.

Mexican authorities have not released any information about the incident.
