Webb County Fire Chief Has Until Friday To Pass Exam

By KGNS News

Webb County Fire and EMS Coordinator Jerry Arizola has yet to pass his department head certification exam. He has four days left before county officials take action.
"I know that he had until the end of this month to get his credentials. And from what we understand he hasn't been able to do that."
Arizola has been in the position for a year, taken the test three times and has yet to pass.
"Right now, he left this morning to take his management test. We will have to wait for the results. Probably 2-3 days to see if he passed it."
Arizola made the trip to San Antonio to take the exam. However, Flores says he is unsure what steps will be taken in the event Arizola fails.
"Well, right now, everything is up in the air. We know that he had until September 30th to have both certificates, which is management and certificate for the fire dept. We're just going to have to wait for that. It's up to the commissioners in that situation."
Flores says there are two separate tests Arizola must take. One is his firefighter recertification which he's already passed. The management test, which is mandated by the Texas Commission, is the one he re-took today.
“We were under the gun. I do give him credit and because he came in new and he took the lead but he has to have his credentials and has to have his certification.”
Gina Benitez, Pro 8 News.
We spoke to the Chief today and because he was out of town, we were unable to get an interview. We hope to speak to him tomorrow to bring you the very latest on his status.

CG, I know your pain. I have also hit a nerve and was censored into cyber space. You know that’s the thing about a blog; was put in place to be able to FREELY express one's opinion on a specific subject matter. Never Give Up!!

Do not be suprised, this is what the County hires, compadres, comadres, lovers, etc.; you do not have to have any skills to work for the County!!!!

Let's give him two out of three! Why not? This is the way County and our City do business.
