The loud banging of hammers and revving saws could be heard as Laredo women got to show off their building skills at Tierra Prometida. Construction crews of female volunteers raise their hammers at Habitat for Humanity construction sites in recognition of National Women Build Week. Lowe's has partnered up with Habitat for Humanity to teach these local women how to build a home and are providing all the materials. Tierra Prometida is almost complete, and today they were working on two homes. The lucky couple that will get to live in this home was present, helping out in the construction of their brand new home. Vivian Moreno says, " Thanks to Habitat for Humanity they helped us get a house, and we are helping build it and it’s a lot of fun." To date, female volunteers have built more than 1800 Habitat Homes nationwide during National Women Build Week.
