It’s the recent car bombing in our sister city that proved just how vicious Nuevo Laredo’s drug war has become.
Now new video is released from where that explosion took place, showing us exactly what happened, and how the innocent are the real victims of this continuous battle.
It’s video taken from outside the town hall building where the city’s mayor parks his car.
A man going about his business walks by, not knowing what’s about to happen.
Watch closely.
The video was posted on the intranet after airing on a documentary on Televisa.
In that documentary human rights activists speak out about how this war is no longer about criminals against criminals, or criminals against the government, rather a war that has ultimately taken its toll on those caught in the cross fire.

The Rats in city hall do not want to implement the ethics committee because they are dirty rats, all are afraid that once that is in place the rodent food will dissapear. Dont feed the rats, dont vote next time. This as grave as any violence or troubles in another country that does little to improve the quality of life in Laredo.

What happens in Nuevo Laredo stays in Nuevo Laredo. We need to know more about our own Rat polititians. Not to have an ethics comittee for 6 years, you can imagine wht those rats are doing in city hall.

You assert that "you have the privilege of living in a country where a criminal element does not blatantly disrupt our way of life" but so please explain having to stop at the border patrol stations as you leave Laredo. Let me guess YOU don't have to stop, you're just waived on without even slowing down. Don't delude yourself, everyone's life is being disrupted because of the criminal element.

When is traveling NOT at one's own risk?

If you could provide some credible data on the percentages of those that do cross it may add some relevance. As for me, I have no need or desire to go over there. There are though, some who do. For those who feel the need to travel, whether it is out of necessity or pleasure, they do so at their own risk. The State Department has issued travel advisories on numerous occasions. It's done for a reason. If there is a chance of getting caught up in the violence, simply stay away. Can a car bombing happen anywhere? Yes. The chances of it happening in Mexico are just a tad bit higher given the current situation. Am I turning a blind eye? I don't think so. While aware of what is happening over there, I don't lose sleep over it. I have the privilege of living in a country where a criminal element does not blatantly disrupt our way of life. Should that kind of violence ever occur on our soil, rest assured it would be dealt with swiftly. The Govt of Mexico needs to get their affairs in order.

What percentage..ughh?like a huge percent. people still cross back an forth to nuevo laredo on a daily basis..while u sit here and make stupid comments.would it be better to turn a blind eye from whats happening a minute away from where u live..so u can forget its going on..cross then get caught in an bombing like that. guess everyone should just forget its happening and worry about whats going on in another part of the world.

It may be real-world news but I guess there is only so much that can be reported on around here before stories are recycled. So, there is violence over there - I wonder what percentage of people here it really effects? The media over there should be all over reporting this stuff. I know......

reports on Nuevo Laredo vs. reports on Tom and Katie's divorce. At least that is real news and not garbage like the lechuza story.
