Nuevo Laredo Bodies Found Next To River

By KGNS News

The bodies of two people believed to have been trying to enter the U.S. illegally are recovered from the river over the weekend.

First responders were called on Saturday with reports of a body floating in the river about two miles away from international bridge number two.

Authorities searched for the body and instead of finding one victim they found two. Neither of the men had any identification on them and there were no signs of foul play seemingly involved in their deaths.

Their bodies were taken to the Nuevo Laredo morgue pending autopsies. According to officials, 26 victims have died trying to cross the Rio Grande so far this year.

Shades of the 1980s. My first photo assignment with you guys was for a 15-year-old who drowned crossing the river. Happened all the time.
