Nuevo Laredo: Weekend of Mexican Independence

By KGNS News

Out of Nuevo Laredo where the murder rate continues to climb.
Nuevo Laredo officials are reporting they have found the bodies of nine males dumped near a mass grave.
That grave, the same grave where 74 migrants were found two years ago.
Analysts predicted that the recent arrest of Gulf Cartel head Eduardo Costilla Sanchez could be setting off a struggle for control of his smuggling routes.

Meanwhile Mexican reporters are saying the traditional Grito took place last night without any major problems.
It’s the 202 Anniversary of Mexico’s Independence.
They tell us 30,000 people showed to watch the annual ceremony.
Mayor Benjamin Galvan and other government officials were all in attendance.
They dedicated this Grito of Independence to peace and staying united.
Extra security measures were in place since early in the week to assure the night remained safe.
And the traditional festivities continued this morning.
Children, city leaders and members of the military all participated in the parade that takes place every September 16th.
Every year the Mexican Celebration honors the heroes who fought for the liberty of their country.
