It's no secret Laredo plays a vital role in international trade between Mexico and the U.S. Since Laredo is centrally located between Mexico, Chicago, Detroit and other areas, automotive is one of the largest items that moves through this border along with loads of food, steel and lumber products. Business men and women from across the country involved with the international trade attended the meeting. Ivan Rodriguez, this year's chairman for the symposium, says funding for infrastructure is particularly important.
