Hundreds of people gathered at the student activity complex for a great sounding competition. It was a battle of the marching bands over at the UISD stadium tonight. The show began Saturday afternoon with the sounds of local and surrounding high school bands as well as some invited guests. It all wrapped up with an awards presentation. This year's feature band was the Texas A&M Kingsville Javelinas. The United States Scholastic Band Association High School Contest is an annual event.
The winners for the event were as follows: In Division 6, United HS came in first place. In Division 5, Alexander HS came in first place, and in District 4, LBJ came in first place.
