Police Hit Up Maquinitas Friday Night

It's a new establishment in the north part of town.
Yet, Laredo Police were already raiding the business for alleged illegal business activity.
Around 12:30 a.m. search and arrest warrants were issued to three individuals at the Flamingo Amusement Center.
A total of 250 motherboards were seized, as well as over $26,000.
This happened after alleged illegal cash pay outs to customers there.
Francisca Rodriguez- Guajardo, 33, Tommy Williams, 57, and Elfego Ramos, 20, were all arrested on charges of gambling promotion, a class a misdemeanor and organized criminal activity, which is a state jail felony.
The maquinita industry kept police busy last night, after another raid this one on the west part of the city, The Pelican Amusement Center located in the 4100 block of San Dario.
That’s where according to police they raided the place confiscating 141 motherboards and over $11,000.
In this case Monica Galvan was taken into custody and booked at Webb County Jail also for gambling promotion.
Both raids that we just told you about police say were part of a multi-week investigation where plain clothed undercover officers were paid out in currency over $5 which is illegal.
