We caught up with the newly crowned Miss Texas U-S-A as she was shopping at Mall del Norte today.
She was enjoying her last day in the gateway city.
Miss Texas, Brooke Daniels, says Laredo has been absolutely wonderful to her.
"They've really rolled out the red carpet and I appreciate everything they've done for the Miss Texas USA pageant. It’s bitter sweet that it’s ending here, but they did such a wonderful job."
"What we taught her was that its not about really winning but its about developing and getting better each competition within yourself."
Miss Texas USA says she plans to get to work immediately preparing for the Miss USA pageant in April.
She will also be promoting the prevention of ovarian cancer for the crystal group.
