Need for food growing in Laredo

Laredo is said to have a low unemployment rate but still many fall below the poverty line.
Today South Texas Food Bank representatives spoke to members of the Kiwanis Club about the growing need of Laredo families.
According to the organization, 30 percent of Webb County residents live below the poverty line, which is triple the national average.
The South Texas Food Bank serves more that 35 thousand individuals every month- 41 percent are children.
