Family awarded twelve thousand in cemetery lawsuit

By Ray Gomez

The jury has made a decision in the lawsuit against the Catholic Mutual Group and Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Alfonso Salinas was awarded 12 thousand dollars, which was the cost of funeral expenses for Salinas' father.
The case went to court after the family learned that their father was buried in the wrong spot and after they felt their father's body was mishandled during the re-burial.
Yesterday the supervisor for the cemetery took the stand admitting most of her employees have zero training.
The family was not seeking a specific amount of money in the lawsuit.
They say they just wanted the matter made public.
