Drug killings continue in Ciudad Juarez

By Ray Gomez

Despite some ten thousand Mexican soldiers and federal police in Ciudad Juarez drug killings are on the rise.
The influx of troops and federal police brought what turned out to be just a temporary calm to the city.
Three months later drug killings are taking over last year's levels.
The city's most recent death tally is 900 killings in the first six months of the year compared to 800 last year.
Apparently there is still police corruption...
In one horrific case a man who called a drug hotline to report suspicious activity near his home was later found dead in the trunk of a car with a note that said, "this is what happens to those who ring 0-6-0."
