5.7 Million Grant to Build New Fire Station at Airport

By KGNS News

The Laredo Airport has been granted a $5.7 million dollar grant for construction of an on-site fire station. A press conference was held this morning in the main terminal lobby at the Laredo International Airport. The over 15,000 square foot fire station will cut down on the response time should an emergency develop on the runway. Congressman Henry Cuellar says grant money over the years has helped Laredo's airport become a top-notch facility.
The new facility will include two drive-through apparatus bays, a wash and decontamination room, an agent storage room, six shared sleeping rooms, three bathrooms, a private laundry and an exercise room.
