There was a prison break in Nuevo Laredo this morning.
According to an official press release from the Mexican government, there was a fight between inmates at the state jail in Nuevo Laredo.
Seven inmates were killed, 59 inmates escaped, 5 jail officers are missing and close to 30 people were injured in the incident.
Authorities say they will be re-enforcing security outside the jail.
According to our sources, the government had sent federal officers to guard the outside of the jail months ago.
But at the time of the fight, there were no federal officers or soldiers keeping guard.
