5K Run/Walk in Honor of Domestic Violence Victim

By KGNS News

It’s the second anniversary of the tragic murder of a Laredo woman in San Antonio. Kristine Meza fell victim to domestic violence and was ambushed in her driveway on her way to work by her estranged ex-boyfriend. She died of gun shot wounds sustained during her attacks 2 years ago. As a result, friends and family created The Kristine Meza foundation in hopes of helping those who are victims of domestic violence and preventing this from happening to anyone else.
The foundation is hosting their annual Stop the Silence, End the Violence 5k run and walk in San Antonio this Saturday to raise more awareness on the issue and impact of domestic violence.
If you would like to register or to learn more about the fundraiser and the foundation, you can log on to their website. Also, a special candlelight vigil will be held on Friday in her honor.
