It's an event many people look forward to every year. The 5th annual spring break kite festival, and it's currently underway at north central park. That's where we find our Lauren Kendrick. She joins us with more. Michelle Escobedo says her five year old couldn't wait to fly his shark kite this year. "He's my little calendar. How many more days? How many more days? So it's something he really looks forward to." She says it's a great opportunity for everyone in the community to come together and enjoy each other. "With all the multi-media things the kids have, it's rare that we see our kids out here having conversations and start talking about their kites." Another person enjoying the day with his daughter is Tim Hinds. "This is a great and great city." The event is always scheduled during the spring break holiday. "Everybody's in a good mood and having fun and it's a great day in Laredo to be alive. Thank God."
