Police investigate 17th murder of the year

Laredo police are now investigating the city's 17 murder of the year.
This after a man is found gunned down in a north Laredo neighborhood.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired right before 3 this morning in the 85-hundred block of Rocksprings circle ... just about a block away from Trautmann Middle School.
According to authorities ... police found two men lying on the ground when they arrived.
One of the victims was confirmed dead on the scene.
At this time the identity of the man is not being released but we do understand he was in his late 20's or early 30's.
The second person suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to an area hospital but there is no word on his condition at this time.
Authorities are still looking into what may have led to the murder.
