Beloved Laredoan Laid To Rest

By Ray Gomez

One of the last masses that Monsignor Tom Davis presided over was the funeral of a beloved Laredo Leader.

There was a huge group at Saint Patrick's Church as friends and family said their goodbyes to Richard Haynes.

"Dicky" Haynes died Friday at the age of 66 after a lengthy illness.

Haynes was a Laredo Attorney, Developer and Community Leader that had a huge impact on shaping Laredo.

Many say his dreams were as big as the community he loved.

Besides his family, he was most proud.of building homes for less fortunate Laredoans.

In fact. these pictures were put together by Habitat For Humanity where he volunteered.

Besides "Habitat" Haynes was active in many other non-profit and civic organizations.

He was especially involved in his churchlife and took his religion seriously.

Many local leaders attended his funeral mass, saying he will be missed dearly.
