Police arrest suspect in officer involved hit and run

There has been a major break in the hit and run case where a Laredo police officer was injured on Wednesday.
Police have arrested the man behind the wheel who was on the run for two days.
Police now have 65 year-old Carlos Perales in custody.
He’s charged with failure to stop and render aid, a state jail felony.
Police say he ran into a motorcycle officer and fled from the scene.
The traffic officer was hit near the intersection of Loop 20 and Campos around five pm Wednesday.
The officer was taken to the hospital in stable condition with a possible arm fracture and may need surgery.
