150K pot found in fake oilfield truck

By Cynthia Cano

A truck thought to be that of an oilfield company turns out to be a fake, and authorities would later find hundreds of pounds of marijuana inside. A Webb County Deputy noticed the 2003 Ford F-250 in the parking lot of a local business yesterday at around noon. According to reports, the Sheriff's deputy thought the truck looked suspicious and, upon further inspection, noticed the license plates of the vehicle were expired and even the registration sticker had been placed upside down. The keys to the vehicle were later found inside the ignition. After smelling the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the truck, deputies investigated further and found over 200 pounds of narcotics valued at almost $150,000 dollars. No arrests have been made in this case.
