10k run and plenty of ribs

The morning kicked off with a 10 k run and ended with plenty of ribs for members of local federal agencies.
Our very own Heatwave Berler helped judge some of the best tasting ribs in town, prepared by members of the Border Patrol and Customs and Border Protection among other federal agencies.
Money raised at today's run and rib contest go towards the 2009 Laredo combined federal campaign which is helping to collect funds for local charities.
Organizers were happy with the show of support.

Last year the Combined Federal Campaign had the largest increase in collections for the year and was recognized in Washington for collecting $461,000.
