Walk to defeat ALS

Hundreds lined up to help in the fight against ALS.
The Laredo walk to defeat ALS kicked off early this morning over at TAMIU.
Organizers say all the money raised at today's event stays in south Texas and goes towards research of Lou Gehrig's disease and providing much needed relief to ALS patients and their families.
This is the tenth year for the event which was brought to Laredo by a local family.
Carlos Garcia helped bring the ALS walk to Laredo
“My brother was diagnosed 4 years ago. When we became aware of the disease, we had no clue what it was, so we began looking up information.”
Garcia says he hopes others here in Laredo will become more aware of the disease and seek the help they need.
