Cyclists Zoom Through Laredo: 150 Riders Gear Up

By Cynthia Cano

Over 150 riders took part in the first ever International Cycling Circuit in Laredo. This is what it looked like earlier today as dozens rode through the streets of downtown Laredo this morning. The event was organized by a local cycling club and City officials who say it's a great way to draw in tourists and get people moving. "You always think of Laredo as eating and dining; now they're promoting health and sports. It helps with the community. Hopefully, it will be addicting and people will go out and do more with the cycling," says Joe Gonzalez, a member of the Laredo Cycling Club. Some of the top participants rode several 2 and a half mile laps, equalling to over 40 miles of cycling.
