UHS ROTC Braves Chilly Weather to Make Laredo Beautiful

By Cynthia Cano

Future members of the U.S. Air Force braved the chilly weather this morning to help keep Laredo beautiful. Students from United High School's Air Force R.O.T.C. strapped on their neon orange vests, and helped clean up a 2 mile stretch of highway along Loop 20. The students began picking up trash around Lake Casa Blanca and ended their 2 mile hike in front of the L.E.C. Freshmen Longhorns all the way to senior Longhorns were a part of today's voluntary clean-up. "The reason why we're here today is to pick up trash, not only for community service hours, but to keep our city beautiful," says Jonathan Ibarra, a Senior at UHS. Volunteers began their beautification project at 9 o'clock this morning.
