Commissioners' Court: A Brief Look at Agenda

Will inmates at the Webb County Jail soon be housed in Zapata County? That's one of the many items to be discussed at Monday's Commissioners' Court meeting. Sheriff Martin Cuellar will discuss a potential cooperative agreement between Webb and Zapata Counties to house Webb County inmates at a rate of $40 dollars per inmate, per day. Also on the agenda, Patricia Barrera will continue to push for an exemption to the County-wide hiring freeze as she seeks for an extra mail room clerk. And, in closed session, Commissioners may authorize a bid for purchasing property owned by Kansas City Southern Railroad located just North of the Webb County Administration Building.
