Police raid house; find marijuana scattered

The Laredo Police Department narcotics unit was busy throughout the weekend as they seize more than six hundred pounds of marijuana in two different cases. The first case occurred Saturday in the 48 hundred block of Patio. According to police, they had the home under surveillance. Inside officers were able to seize close to four hundred pounds of marijuana. Two people were arrested, 27-year-old Salvador Hernadez and 35-year-old Pedro Hernandez. They are facing charges of possession of a controlled substance.

The second case occurred Sunday on Bear Claw Street. Officers had received information that a large amount of marijuana was being stored at a home. When officers got inside of the house, they found several bundles of marijuana totaling 241 pounds of marijuana. Officers also found marijuana scattered all over the floor with drug paraphanelia. Two people were arrested, 32-year-old Mario Alejandro Sanchez and 34 year old Jose Antonio Navarro.
