Shirley Field demolished, LISD to award construction contract soon
Developers are preparing for the next phase in building the new Shirley Field.
After months of work, the original sporting complex was demolished. The Laredo Independent School District is looking to award a construction contract for the new field.
The new facility is expected to seat 8,000 people, feature artificial turf, and cost about $12 million.
Officials are hoping to have construction done by the start of the 2011 football season.
