Airline travel down in Laredo for Thanksgiving holiday

By Ray Gomez

It’s still one of the busiest travel days of the year, but the economy continues to take its toll on the number of people traveling for thanksgiving.

The airport was surprisingly slow in Laredo on the eve of Turkey Day.

AAA says over 80% of holiday travelers will take to the roads this year rather than dealing with the stresses of an airport.

Airlines have been forced to offer fewer flights and are now digging even deeper into the pockets of holiday travelers.

Airline travel is down again this year and has fallen over 60% since the year 2000.
