El Metro: No bus routes on Christmas Day

Representatives of El Metro say the transit system will not be running on Christmas nor New Year's Day.

Recently El Metro took cost cutting measures, including hiking up bus rates.

El Metro Director Feliciano Garcia says city officials approved the changes back in august and although they don’t want to inconvenience customers, they are still forced to cut back on costs.

They say up to 90% of ridership is lost on both Christmas and New Years Day.
