Laredo family receives the key to new home

By Ray Gomez

A Laredo family has now moved into a brand new home thanks to Habitat for Humanity.

The home was dedicated tonight to a well known supporter of the Laredo community.

The story is one of passing on a dream.

The house is nicknamed the Tricky Dicky Habitat home after Richard Haynes and gives one family an amazing story to tell.

"Extreme makeover has nothing on us."

After 14 years of making dreams come true for laredo families, Habitat for Humanity is doing it again.

Iredth Felizardo and her husband Ruben are speechless after seeing pictures of their brand new home for the first time.

A home built in record time to meet the specific requirements and ideas of Richard e. Haynes, known for giving back to the underprivileged of Webb County.

Dicky Haynes would pass away on the same day the 4 bedroom home was complete.

But for a grateful family a new life is just beg ginning.

The moment is exciting she says, we especially my three daughters are so anxious for the moment when we can walk into our home.

He says "I can't believe it. without even knowing us, these wonderful people have done so much, we are so grateful for Habitat for Humanity."

The thousands of dollars raised at tonight home for the holidays gala with benefit the Dicky Haynes Fund for humanity and go towards granting the wishes of more families.

After the gala, the Felizards went directly to their new house and moved into their new home.
