RIOfest 2010 in the works

Organizers of this year's first ever RIOfest want people to fall in love with the river again.

The Laredo Hotel and Lodging Association gave sponsors to this year's event a sneak preview of next year's RIOfest event. The event attracted more people than they ever could have imagined, so organizers are thrilled to do it again:

"Most first time events attract 30-40 kayakers. We had 225 some kayakers compete, majority of them almost 140 out of town kayakers. It was a grand, grand success."

RIOfest 2010 is still in the works.

A formal announcement, complete with details will take place in January.
