Elementary students from Oilton, Bruni and Mirando City got a big surprise this morning.
They got their Christmas gifts early all part of "Navidad En El Barrio" hosted by Constable Rudy Rodriguez.
Each kid got multiple gifts in an area of Webb County where many would have gotten none.
No doubt there were huge smiles all around.
Rudy Rodriguez\CONSTABLE " We made that extra effort to come all the way to Oilton, Bruni, and Mirando to host Navidad En El Barrio here so they can get their gifts."
Rosaura "Wawi" Tijerina\COUNTY COMMISSIONER " Such an emotional moment because of their smiles on their face and you know very well some of the children cannot afford certain toys so its very emotional."
This year Constable Rodriguez expects to give gifts to almost four thousand children.
That’s more than double from last year.
Navidad En El Barrio in Laredo will be a two day event this year.
It's next week at the Laredo Entertainment Center.
