Nuevo Laredo authorities plan to release wasps to eradicate the carrizo cane along the Rio Grande.
As a bi-national event Mexico and United States will release the wasps 400 kilometers from Matamoros to Nuevo Laredo.
This is a project where they will be releasing insects that will feed on the carrizo cane.
The release of the wasps will take place in about a month.
On this side of the border machines and herbicides have been utilized to eradicate the carrizo.
