Laredo is preparing to welcome thousands of people headed south into Mexico.
Unfortunately, some of the Paisanos will be targets of fraud.
So tonight there is a warning for paisanos.
For the third year in a row, the District Attorney and Consul General of Mexico in Laredo have teamed up to tell paisanos to watch out for anyone trying to take advantage of them.

The visitors take loads of items across.
But it's when they export vehicles that they can sometimes become victims of fraud.
“There’s certain paperwork required. its a very big industry where millions of dollars are invested unfortunately if there’s money there’s sometimes fraud.”
It's a crime the D.A. and Consul General of Mexico are warning travelers about.
Exporting a vehicle takes 72 hours but some thieves promise a quicker way.
“What happens is they get to Mexico they show the paperwork and it is either false of doesn’t meet requirements. They’re out the money and cant move the vehicle so it causes a lot of headaches for these people.”
U.S. Customs says Paisanos should begin the process before they even get to the border.
“For this time of the season we allow Paisanos to send us via fax because they have to wait 72 hours.”
Insuring a quicker trip and happier result.
This is the third year the D.A. has held the piasanos campaign.
He says it seems travelers are getting the message because each year there are less reports of nationalization fraud.
