More banners accusing political leaders of corruption have surfaced in parts of Nuevo Laredo.
Two banners were spotted early Thursday morning accusing the mayor of Reynosa, Tamaulipas and the head of the state police of being in the pocket of the Gulf Cartel.
A group of supposed disgruntled Tamaulipas citizens reportedly took responsibility for the banners, which accuses several other prominent figures in the area as the ones being chiefly responsible for the violence in the state.
Members of the Mexican military have since taken down the banners.
