Border Funding Lost

By KGNS News

$600 Million for border protection and law enforcement was approved by the US Senate and headed for the US-Mexico border. And just as quickly it was taken back.

According to Washington officials, an issue during the voting has voided the Senates passage of the bill. Included in those $600 million would have been $176 Million for 1,000 new border patrol agents to form a "Strike Force" to be deployed at areas most needed and $14 million for communication equipment for new officers, but almost as quickly as it was all approved, it was taken back because attornies say the bill was unconstitutional.

Cuellar doesn't believe the Senate will come back next week and vote on this bill. He believes it will take until September before the border can see more funding.
