The man who had escaped from border patrol custody has been captured.
A person calling in a tip to border patrol spotted 24-year-old Edgar Manuel Sanchez Mendiola at the Evelyn motel on San Bernardo.
He was in a hotel room, and when police began surveying the area he hid in the bushes.
He then ran but was apprehended a short distance away.
Mendiola had been on the run since yesterday, when he requested medical attention. They took him to Doctors Hospital and he managed to get away.
He is now back in border patrol custody.
