Bowling Tournament Held in Fallen ICE Agent's Honor

By KGNS News

Hundreds gathered at Jett Bowl, Tuesday evening raising funds to honor a fallen hero. 68 teams participated in the “Friends of Special I.C.E. Agent Jaime Zapata” bowling tournament, in hopes of raising enough money to create a bust of him to be put on display. In addition to the money to participate in the tournament, there was a separate raffle for many prizes and numerous organization sponsored lanes.

Zapata's mother was moved by the large out pouring of support at the event. “It's great. It's great to see they don't forget him for the hero he is. He would be very happy, very proud. It would be a very proud moment for him."

Organizers are hoping to place the bust in the federal courthouse but have not gotten the ok to do so yet.
