Brandy Cerny's Mother Speaks About Tragedy

By KGNS News

We've been following the story of two boys who were shot in a local hotel. Their mother's body was found in El Campo shortly after.
Now we hear from the mother of Brandy Cerny about what life is like after this tragedy.
Our Lauren Kendrick spoke to her and has our top story at ten.
"Words can't express what I felt...it's devastation."
Those are the words of a mother who lost her daughter and two grandsons just days ago. Instead of focusing on the violent act which took her loved ones away, she reminisces about her first born, Brandy.
"Her...a repeat of her daddy in looks and her manners. A repeat of her daddy and that little dimple when she would giggle."
She goes through the events that lead up to that fateful Tuesday. She remembers getting a call Monday morning from the boys' other grandmother asking if she had them. Mrs. Cerny said she had tried to call her daughter Brandy around 7:30 that morning before Brandy was scheduled to go to work, but Brandy never answered.
"Later my husband calls me and he says that her work called him and asked if we knew anything about brandy because she's not at work. She hadn't called in and that's not like Brandy."
Brandy's father went to her apartment and noticed that brandy's jeep was not there. That's when the Cernys decided to go to the local police.
"And told them that our daughter and our two grandsons are missing. And from then on the search was on."
Cerny declined to comment on the man who killed her daughter and six year old Jayden and one year old Devian. As the Cerny family were continuing the search for them, it was right here in Laredo where the father, now behind bars, did the unthinkable and killed them.
"It was Tuesday afternoon the local police called us and asked us to come down to the police station."
It was at the police station where she learned she would never hold her grandsons again. She urges anyone in a troubled relationship to get help and talk to somebody, adding that Brandy put her boys first and tried to protect them as much as possible.
"We're always going to include brandy and the boys in everything...in everything just like they were still here because they are here. They're with us."
As for how the Cerny family is coping, she says it's day by day. They are overwhelmed by the amount of support they have received from total strangers.
"The family and friends of Brandy Cerny and boys appreciate what everybody has done...we appreciate it through the kindness of their hearts."
