We've heard the concerns before.
People waiting for hours on the pedestrian bridge or sitting in their vehicles waiting for a while to get into the united states.
And as the holidays approach people say the wait times will only get longer.
But there is something that can be done to help.
People are used to waiting.
“People are in line for hours.”
And waiting.
“Sometimes there’s a 105 degree weather and put that with a bridge full of cars.”
Sometimes for hours just to get in to the united states from Mexico.
They agree is just part of the process.
“We understand theres a process and CBP has to do their job.”
But as the holidays approach, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say the number of people and vehicles that will be processed here in Laredo will only get larger.
So the tip to travelers, sign up to use the ready lane.
“To help our officers is process that amount of people that come during the holidays.”
Travelers using the lane are issued and RFID card that helps in speeding up the inspection process.
Pedestrians who use bridge one will have access to a ready lane kiosk beginning November 15th.
CBP says you'll still have to wait but not as long.
Making for a happier holiday season.
“You want to avoid the lines. Get the new paper.”
